The Importance of Friends

When you think of a friend, who comes to mind? Is it someone from your childhood? Could it be your coworker at work? Now that you have thought about who that friend is, why are they your friend? Maybe because they stuck by your side during a hard time? Or you guys just randomly clicked and spontaneously became friends. What makes this friend a friend? What have they done for you? How do they support you and your decisions? Are they truly a good friend?

From a very young age, we as humans make friends. Throughout our lives, our friends can change. You can grow out of friends, become distant, or an event can happen that makes you no longer want that person in your day-to-day life. Regardless, at every stage of life, the majority of us have had at least one person to call a friend. So, why is that? What is so important about friends?

A good friend makes you feel like you belong. They boost your confidence, make you laugh, and overall just create joy in your life. Friends are there to help you through any time or event in your life, good or bad. They should give you confidence and support. A true friend is there whenever you need them.

  1. When I think of a friend, I think of my best friend during a rough time in my life which was 7th grade. I had been bullied and kick out of a toxic friend group and no longer had fun going to school, but then a new person came into my life bringing nothing but positivity his name was Sam, we are still friends to this day!
